As announced on 10 April 2024, the European Energy Exchange AG (EEX AG) as a benchmark administrator pursuant to article 34 of Regulation (EU) No. 2016/2011 (“EU Benchmark Regulation”), will further specify the benchmark methodology of the below listed Nordic Power Benchmarks.
More specifically, the relevant market area shall be determined by reference to a specific delivery point. The Nordic Power Benchmarks will thus be based on the Day-ahead auction prices of EPEX SPOT SE for the market area that encompasses this specific delivery point. The general calculation methodology and classification of EEX’s Nordic Power Benchmarks shall remain unchanged.
The specification will be effective as of 1 May 2024. The conducted public consultation from 10 April until 19 April 2024 did not receive any feedback. The EEX Benchmark Statement will be adjusted accordingly.
