Leipzig, 7 May 2025 - EEX Group reports its April monthly volumes with the following highlights:
- The EEX Group Global Power markets achieved a monthly trading volume of 1,270.1 TWh, marking a +12% Year-on-Year growth. This included a 14% YoY growth on the EEX European Power Derivatives markets, which reached a total of 825.9 TWh. Three-digit growth rates were recorded on the CSEE (+104%) and GB (+303%) power derivatives markets.
- An overall record volume of 821.8 TWh (+42% YoY) was registered on the Group’s Natural Gas markets. This increase was both driven by the European Natural Gas Spot markets, totaling 295.9 TWh (+31% YoY) as well as the European Natural Gas Derivatives markets, reaching a record volume total of 493.0 TWh (+50% YoY). New record volumes were reached on the Dutch TTF gas futures market at 307.9 TWh (+44% YoY), as well as on the German THE gas futures market at 109.4 TWh (+112% YoY). Volumes on the Belgian ZTP gas futures tripled to 2,229.1 TWh.
- The EEX Group Freight markets registered a 40% Year-on-Year growth, reaching 105,035 contracts, driven by the EEX Freight Futures growth of 38% as well as the EEX Freight Options growth of 65%.
- North American Environmental Futures at Nodal achieved 71,138 contracts (+46% YoY).
