    2023 - a record year for Dry Bulk Freight

    2023 was a record year for global dry bulk freight futures with total volumes exceeding 3.6 M lots, approximately twice the size of the underlying physical market. EEX holds 48% of all open interest in the market and is the leading exchange in options with the largest options volume and open interest in 2023.

    In December 2023 EEX extended our LNG offering with the extension of tradable maturities in JKM LNG out to 72 months forward. April 2024 will see the launch of a cash settled USD/MMBTu TTF future, this will further strengthen our LNG portfolio by allowing market participants to trade between regions for LNG.

    EEX offers contracts on Power and Emission Allowances as well as Freight and Agricultural Products.
